The first public picture gallery in Poland was opened from the initiative of the castellan of Podlasie Jozef Kajetan Ossolinski. Gallery was opened in 1814 in Warsaw in the palace of Jozef Kajetan called Tlumackiem. Gallery came from the private collection of the founder and counted above 300 paints. There were many interesting paints for example works of: Rembrant, Bacciarelli, Canaletto, Cranach, Durer, Tician and Rubens.

Welcome on pages of the project having to bring near history, the genealogy and the historic heritage of Ossolinski family.

I'm interesting in history of Ossolinski family for above 20 years. The information on this page are an effect of the arduous work of my cousins, my wife as and myself, this is only the part of informations. Published here materials originate mainly from bibliographic sources, archiv sources and family remittances.

There are not archival informations from Ossolinski Istitute and National Polish Archiv.
